French press attache par excellence Kuki de Salvertes, debuted at Moschino on the early 80’s, since then, he is a full-timer  in fashion, always  on the side of  brilliant  names with a special sensitivity for surprise and astonishment and  a strong reject for the commercial mass market products or weak universes.

Thanks to all his years of experience in the world of fashion and to his own artistic sense, Kuki de Salvertes, now leads one of the most well known press offices devoted to innovative and promising young designers: Totem. Building it the same way as an art collector, becoming each day more and more demanding, choosing each designer in an equilibrated balance between creativity and business potentials and fueled by a genuine passion for the strongest design and creation.
Now, that he can be proud of have being always representing a selection of the best designers of the moment for around 30 years, the only word I may use to describe him is curiously Totem, staying always like a immovable reference as time goes by and here we are glad to have him, sharing with us, his personal view for the spring summer 2010 man. A project that started rememoring a conversation we had some years ago when we met, recovered now as he has been always much more interested in menswear, so we are bringing to you  a selection of fabrics, superpositions and colors that deserves to be highlighted for the upcoming season under the view of Monsieur Kuki de Salvertes…

Samuel Drira, deep old magazines collector is the director hand in hand with Sybille walter of Encens revue,  in my opinion, one of the best fashion publications ever. In 2002 the two created an endless source of inspiration, elegance and culture, which is outstanding for the way they talk about fashion history and  conceptual art, and since  then,  it has become a point of reference for those who prefer authenticity instead of ephemeral tendences.

When I talk with Samuel I can´t avoid to think about a “non fashionable” style  and for sure independence  as a fundamental principle, a  difference that has become the key in everything of his work. But to keep an independent vision means to have an independent production, of course,  spending 4 intensive months for each issue, from the idea until the actual print, they never  take care of success or strategies to reach it as they want to keep Encens magazine as a curator fashion masterpiece, always working on each issue as the last one.

He also works as  a stylist, creating several kinds of collaborations with promising  designers in the contemporary fashion scene like Matthew Ames, Damir Doma, Fabrics Iinterseason or Bruno Pieters. He   always stays with  his characteristic and smart sense of realism, which he besides regularly contributes to important publications such as Vogue Russia. Now that he is also with us, as the other side of the project  doing the same collaboration as Kuki de Salvertes. Although this time, thinking about the upcoming woman for spring summer 2010, that emerges like a new beginning in words of  professionals. A new kind of woman without body restrictions and with strong shapes based in jackets, capes and luxurious fabrics…
